What is a color wedge?
An anti-glare wedge is a tinted anti-glare strip about 10 cm wide
across the entire top edge of the windshield,
which is achieved by inserting a colored film into the pane.
Function of a color wedge
The main function of the color wedge is similar to that of sunglasses.
The glare from incoming sun rays is reduced,
without affecting the driver's field of vision.
A side effect of the wedge is thermal protection,
because the sun's rays are weakened by the film
and thus heating of the passenger cell is reduced.
