Whether a classic CJ, a rugged Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK or JL, a practical Renegade or a rare Scrambler – the top is part of a Jeep's character. It does more than keep out wind, weather and UV: it defines the look of your vehicle and how well it works day to day.

Which series do you drive?
The right top depends on series, model year and number of doors – a top for the Wrangler TJ will not fit the YJ, and a JK top will not fit the JK Unlimited. You can identify your series from a few details on the body:

What types of top are there?
Not every part replaces the same thing. Keep these four groups apart:
- Complete top – skin including bows, door surrounds and windows. The right choice when the vehicle has no top framework at all.
- Replacement top – the fabric skin only, fitted to the existing original bows. Requires a complete, undamaged framework.
- Top framework (bows) – the bow structure on its own, to replace a missing or bent framework.
- Bikini and summer tops – a sun roof over the front seats only, without sides or rear. It fastens to a soft top channel on the windshield.
